ACBAR's New Director
ACBAR is thrilled to introduce its new Director, Namik Heydarov, from Azerbaijan. With over 25 years of experience in humanitarian and development leadership, Namik’s mission has been to support communities, strengthen organizations, and ensure assistance reaches those who need it most. Having previously worked in Afghanistan for several years, Namik is both honored and delighted to return at this crucial time.
For over 36 years, ACBAR has been a cornerstone of humanitarian and development coordination in Afghanistan. As an independent network of national and international NGOs, we bring together organizations working to deliver both life-saving and development assistance, rebuild communities, and create long-term opportunities for the Afghan people.
Our top priority is helping humanitarian and development actors overcome obstacles, ensuring that aid and essential services reach communities in need. We work closely with authorities, donors, non-government organizations and other stakeholders to navigate operational challenges, advocate for solutions and facilitate coordination, so that resources are used effectively to support the Afghan people.
Afghanistan faces challenges, but through collaboration, innovation, and unwavering commitment, we can make a lasting difference. ACBAR is dedicated to remain a strong bridge between humanitarian efforts and long-term development, helping to build a more stable, resilient, and hopeful future for Afghanistan.
“I look forward to working with all of you—NGOs, donors, authorities, and communities—as we strengthen humanitarian assistance, expand development opportunities, and support Afghanistan’s path forward.” ~ Namik Heydarov
