Impartiality and Safe Environment in Humanitarian Assistance Training
ACBAR organized a one -day workshop in Kabul Province. The event gathered 28 participants from SHAPE-TPP partners organizations to exchange ideas and insights on topics related to fairness and just in organization and communities. This training aimed to enrich organizations with the skills and knowledge essential to create a safe environment and implement effective policies that protect vulnerable populations. By enhancing awareness and practices in these areas, NGOs can better safeguard individuals and optimize their resources for impactful community support in humanitarian assistance.
The training aimed to facilitate the participants with skills and knowledge of tools necessary for promoting equality and enhance inclusive practices within their activities for the vulnerable beneficiaries. Participants enhanced their understanding of the principles and importance of integrating sensitivity in to humanitarian initiatives. The training included terminologies, responsibilities of right based humanitarian response and frameworks for interventions. Furthermore, it elaborated on considering equity and equality at each stage of the project cycle.
The training also fosters knowledge of the participants on humanitarian actions that support all vulnerable groups according to their specific needs, and comprehensive understanding of vulnerabilities must take into the consideration of multiple aspects of diversity (age, disability, minorities, etc.). This will help in enhancing resilience and increasing the sustainability of aid, by improving the capacity of all community members — including the most vulnerable ones — to cope with, and recover from, crises as well as to be better prepared for those to come.
