Call for Expression of Interest
Addressing the drivers of migration and forced displacement by supporting economic stabilization and strengthening community resilience
Background: The EU is committed to supporting the people of Afghanistan and the development of a stable, peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan where full, equal and meaningful participation of all Afghans in governing the country is possible.
Long-term peace and stability in Afghanistan requires an inclusive political process with full, equal and meaningful participation of Afghan women and men, and upholding human rights and fundamental freedoms in accordance with international conventions to which Afghanistan is a state party.
Since 1994, EU has provided €1.4 billion worth of aid to Afghanistan.
Expression of Interest title: Addressing the drivers of migration and forced displacement by supporting economic stabilization and strengthening community resilience
The specific objective (outcome) of this Call for Expression of Interest is:
To improve access to resilient livelihood opportunities for people affected by internal displacement, including returnees, enabling their sustainable integration within host communities.
Target Locations: Proposed interventions must be grounded in a sound analytical approach and respond to needs in the areas of highest return in Afghanistan, in particular Kabul, Kunar, Nangarhar, Balkh, Faryab, Jowzjan, Kunduz, Hilmand, Kandahar, Nimroz, Zabul, Farah, Herat. However, proposed actions are not expected to cover all the listed provinces. Interventions outside these areas would require specific justification.
