Job Summary

The ICT and Communication Officer is responsible for managing the organization's information and communication technology (ICT) systems while supporting internal and external communications. The role ensures the effective operation of IT infrastructure, information security, digital communications, and organizational visibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the organization's ICT infrastructure, including computers, printers, servers, networking equipment, and internet connectivity.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support to staff at the main office and field offices.
  • Ensure all ICT equipment is functioning properly and minimize system downtime.
  • Monitor and maintain email systems, cloud services, and collaboration platforms.
  • Configure and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity.
  • Monitor network performance and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Maintain user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
  • Perform regular system updates and security patches.
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures.
  • Install and maintain antivirus and endpoint protection software.
  • Conduct regular data backup and recovery procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with ICT security policies and data protection standards.
  • Report and respond to ICT security incidents.
  • Develop and implement communication plans and strategies.
  • Prepare newsletters, success stories, press releases, and communication materials.
  • Manage the organization's website and social media platforms.
  • Capture and archive photos and videos of project activities.
  • Ensure organizational branding guidelines are followed.
  • Manage, update, and maintain the organization's official website, ensuring that all information is accurate, current, and aligned with organizational branding.
  • Upload news, announcements, project updates, publications, reports, success stories, and job vacancies to the organization's website.
  • Manage the organization's official social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and other relevant platforms).
  • Develop and publish engaging digital content, including photos, videos, graphics, and awareness materials, in coordination with program teams.
  • Ensure all online communications comply with the organization's communication, branding, and donor visibility guidelines.
  • Monitor website performance and social media engagement, and prepare periodic analytics and performance reports.
  • Coordinate with program teams to collect success stories, beneficiary testimonials, photos, and other communication materials.
  • Any other duties assgin by line manager

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, ICT, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in ICT support and communications (preferably with an NGO or humanitarian organization).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking, hardware maintenance, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience managing websites and social media platforms.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English and local languages (Dari and/or Pashto).
