Main duty and Responsibility
Community Mobilization and Awareness
· Conduct community awareness sessions on health, nutrition, hygiene, immunization, maternal and child health, and disease prevention.
· Mobilize communities to participate in vaccination campaigns, nutrition screening, outreach services, and health promotion activities.
· Promote positive health-seeking behaviours within target communities.
· Support behaviour change communication (BCC) and social and behaviour change (SBC) activities.
· Disseminate key health messages using culturally appropriate communication methods.
· Conduct household visits and community engagement activities when required.
Community-Facility Linkages
· Strengthen referral mechanisms between communities and health facilities.
· Coordinate with CHWs, mother groups, FHAGs, religious leaders, and community elders to improve service utilization.
· Support identification and referral of vulnerable individuals requiring health or nutrition services.
· Promote institutional delivery, ANC/PNC attendance, exclusive breastfeeding, immunization uptake, and family planning services.
· Facilitate communication between communities and health facility staff regarding community needs and concerns.
Outreach and Emergency Support
· Support outreach/mobile health and nutrition activities in target communities.
· Participate in emergency response interventions, outbreak awareness campaigns, and public health activities.
· Support community mobilization during vaccination campaigns and emergency health interventions.
· Assist in identification of hard-to-reach and underserved populations.
· Maintain accurate records of awareness sessions, household visits, and community activities.
· Prepare and submit timely community mobilization activity reports.
· Support data collection and reporting for outreach and awareness activities.
· Report community feedback, complaints, and concerns through appropriate mechanisms.
Coordination and Facility Support
· Coordinate closely with health facility staff and outreach teams for integrated service delivery.
· Participate in meetings, training sessions, and supervision visits when required.
· Support implementation of community-based health and nutrition interventions.
· Assist in organizing community events and health campaigns.
· Ensure respect, dignity, inclusion, and confidentiality for all community members.
· Adhere to Concern’s safeguarding, PSEA, and Code of Conduct policies at all times.
· Promote accountability and community feedback mechanisms.
· Report protection, safeguarding, or security concerns through appropriate mechanisms.
· Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager relevant to programme objectives.
Monitoring and Evaluation
· Support routine monitoring and community feedback collection activities.
· Participate in assessments, surveys, and monitoring visits when required.
· Support the M&E team during field monitoring and data verification activities.
Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS):
- The concern is committed to CHS to ensure downward accountability. CHS standards guide Concern activities in all stages both emergency and development projects /programs. In Afghanistan, we also bounded our activities by Accountability framework and therefore any Afghanistan employees is responsible to comply with CHS principles and benchmarks as instructed by its policies and therefore make sure that all accept and implement CHS standards in all our activities.
To give full support in relation to emergencies/ humanitarian operations when occurring in any area that Concern Afghanistan will respond. This can include but is not limited to participation in the Concern Afghanistan Rapid Deployment Unit (CARDU) and deployment on emergency response teams
