The Embroidery Trainer will be responsible for planning, organizing, delivering, monitoring, and assessing embroidery training under the REEP Project in accordance with the approved curriculum and project implementation plan. The position holder will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
1. Training Delivery
- Deliver theoretical and practical embroidery training in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Prepare weekly and monthly lesson plans.
- Conduct practical demonstrations and supervise workshop activities.
- Teach manual and machine embroidery techniques.
- Train participants in fabric selection, thread selection, pattern tracing, design transfer, stitching techniques, finishing, and quality control.
- Guide trainees in producing marketable embroidery products.
- Apply Competency-Based Training (CBT) and adult learning principles, including hands-on exercises, group practical assignments, and continuous assessment.
2. Workshop Management and Safety
- Train participants in the safe and proper use of embroidery tools, equipment, and machines.
- Demonstrate the operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of embroidery machines.
- Ensure classroom discipline and effective learning.
- Support verification of training materials and toolkits before distribution.
3. Assessment, Coaching and Mentoring
- Assess trainee performance through practical and written evaluations, including mid-term and final competency assessments.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to trainees.
- Prepare trainee assessment and completion reports.
4. Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain attendance records and daily training reports.
- Prepare and submit the following deliverables: training work plan, weekly lesson plans, daily attendance sheets, practical assessment records, monthly progress reports, mid-term trainee assessment report, final trainee competency assessment report, and final training completion report.
5. Coordination and Monitoring
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Skills Development Officer, MEAL team, and TVET providers.
- Participate in monitoring visits conducted by ORD and UNDP.
- Participate in coordination meetings as required.
6. Inclusion, Safeguarding and Compliance
- Promote equal participation of women and persons with disabilities where applicable.
- Apply safeguarding, PSEA, Code of Conduct, and occupational safety requirements, and ensure a respectful, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
7. Other Duties
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Skills Development Officer that contribute to the successful implementation of the training component of the project.
