Teaching and Academic Management

Kateb University, recognized as one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in Afghanistan, officially obtained its license to operate from the Ministry of Higher Education in 2007. The University conducted its first entrance examination (Konkur) on April 11, 2008, under the supervision of a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education, offering admission to the programs of Law, Political Science, and Sociology. More than 250 applicants successfully passed the examination and were admitted to Kateb University. Since then, the University's student population has continued to grow steadily. At present, Kateb University offers ten undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree programs and eight graduate (Master's) degree programs.

• Preparing contracts for full-time faculty members at the beginning of each academic year;
• Preparing contracts for adjunct/visiting faculty members at the beginning of each semester;
• Processing administrative procedures and filing documents related to the recruitment, promotion, and separation of faculty members;
• Maintaining communication with educational officers of faculties and following up on the progress of assigned tasks;
• Reviewing and completing the documents and records of full-time and visiting faculty members;
• Archiving and safeguarding the documents of full-time and visiting faculty members;
• Monitoring faculty members’ attendance in classrooms and ensuring continuous compliance with teaching schedules;
• Reviewing the accuracy of monthly faculty salary reports and forwarding them to the Finance Department for further processing;
• Reporting any unusual attendance-related issues of full-time and visiting faculty members to the Academic Vice Presidency in a timely manner;
• Collecting CVs of teaching applicants and organizing them for submission to the Academic Vice Presidency;
• Processing announcements for required academic vacancies;
• Conducting official visits to institutions and organizations as required and assigned by the Academic Vice President;
• Assisting in faculty evaluations and preparing and organizing evaluation results;
• Preparing, processing, and managing leave forms and calculating the allowable leave entitlements of faculty members;
• Performing assigned responsibilities during examination periods and cooperating with other departments during university events and ceremonies (graduation ceremonies, academic conferences, seminars, etc.);
• Submitting monthly work reports to the Academic Vice Presidency;
• Following up on faculty teaching improvement plans;
• Following up on the archiving of Academic Council and Quality Assurance meetings of faculties and submitting related records to the Academic Vice Presidency;
• Collecting strategic plans of faculties, preparing summaries, submitting them to the Academic Vice Presidency, and following up on their implementation;
• Performing other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor as required.

a. Holding at least a Bachelor's degree from a recognized higher education institution;

b. Proficiency in the national languages and the English language.
